I have a 13 year old African grey, I know that there life span is from 70-80 years? but whats the average? how long do they live in captivity? if you ever had a grey that lived its full live, how old was it when it passed?

Mine are 16 and 14. A couple of years ago I read an article in a newspaper about a parrot sanctuary here where the oldest Grey - a 70 year old - makes the noises of bombs falling on London during the second world war. Edit: I have seen a 43 year old African Grey parrot on TV, having a cataract operation. She had lived with the same owner all her life, ever since the owner was a child herself.
Jane (thanks for my avatar btw) That 70 year old parrot was on a tv show here in the states that played on the science channel about aging, at the time of the show he 71 years old! And he looked every day of it. They said he had out lived three owners.
