No glued wood like plywood or pressboard. No paints or stains except for food coloring. Pete chews on pine, redwood and trys to get at his perches, but they are too hard. The redwood was trim around the door of my office, and the pine is his toys.

HI At my local pet store they sell apple wood. They are in small circles w. a hole drilled right through them and i have them on a chain. They are in all different colors, and they are only 10.cents a piece. They usually last a day or two before he breaks it to the chain. The chains i bought at hardware store they are just key rings that i put 6 together and on the last one a spring loaded so i can snap different toys to it. he really likes these and plays for a long time w/ them .
I bought a piece of pine wood that my husband cut into pieces and we colored with kool-aid. Manzi likes chewing on them but he has only gotten all the way through one of them since we made them about 5 months ago. He goes through stages of chewing and throwing them around and then sometimes he ignores them for a while.
